USA Climbing Timer

A competition-style climbing rotation: three and a half minutes on the wall, then thirty seconds to come down, brush in, and move to the next problem — on repeat. The timer calls the end of every climb and every transition, so a session run to USA Climbing pacing flows without anyone holding a stopwatch at the base of the wall.

It is built for training to comp rhythm rather than open-ended projecting: simulate a finals rotation, run a "climb on / climb off" block with a partner who shares the wall on the transition, or set a gym session where you and a group rotate boulders on the same clock. It loops up to a hundred rounds so it simply keeps going as long as you do. Open the preset in the editor to set your own climb and transition lengths, or match a specific format’s timing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is each climbing interval?
Three and a half minutes on the wall followed by a thirty-second transition — four minutes per rotation. The red CLIMB block is your time on the problem; the green transition is the window to come down, brush, and set up for the next one.
Can I match my competition’s exact timing?
Yes — open the preset in the editor and set the climb and transition to whatever the format uses. Comp timings vary by round and discipline, so adjust both intervals to mirror the rotation you are training for.
How do I run a climb-on, climb-off session with a partner?
Share the wall on the clock: one climbs during the CLIMB interval while the other rests, then you swap on the transition. With the rotation looping up to a hundred rounds, it keeps alternating for as long as the session lasts.
